glittery objects are better than non-glittery objects

I bought myself a glittery crochet hook, it's very pretty in the sunlight. I had to start crocheting to justify the purchase, and so I'm in the process of making a rag rug. I wish more mundane objects could be as pretty(and glittery(or furry)), as it would make everything more fun to do. Maybe they should start sending out glittery bills, or have glittery dentists.

Lillepus approves of the rug, even though it isn't finished yet. She prefers to be on top of things that are in use, as it makes her the center of attention:

A video still from something I watched while crocheting:
Ah yes, thanks for the warning.

I like how this photo looks very aged, and I also kind of like that the girl has a piece of crap strapped to her head:

Spot Portraits by Timothy Cummings

I'm getting more and more interested in seeing/making art with lots of dots and patterns on the subjects. I like how making patterns on the subject can both take away from the subject, cover it up and at the same time add something to it, make it something different or even more like itself. Also the end result is often very mad and busy, and that is a bonus in itself;)

I love Timothy Cumming's Spot Portraits, I like how the patterns are sometimes like tattoos and decorations, sometimes like some kind of disease, and other times like they've been painted on, totally covering and obliterating the subject.

The fact that I love this painting proves that I never fully got over my teen angst:

I know I posted lots of paintings, but there's still more! See more spot portraits here: http://www.daboragallery.com/spotportraits.html

nature

I haven't been blogging in ages! My friends Andy and Julie came to visit me from the UK, and we looked at nature together. It was very green and full of friendly animals and lengthy distances to walk.

Andy asked me to find a moose for him to look at, but this was the best I could do for him:

Look, it's nearly a moose.. a small white fluffy friendly moose..:

Epic:
