it would be awesome to have a baby..

.. so I could knit it great costumes. Like this:

Or this:

I would obviously knit my baby much better costumes as well. If I had a baby, my baby would be dressed up as a little gnome. Every Single Day. And on the days that it wasn't dressed up as a gnome, it would be dressed up as something more outlandish and weird. It would only wear colours like green, yellow and black so as to not look like(and be treated by others like) a girl or a boy and would be called a name that wasn't gender specific.

If I had a baby, I would train the baby to do house chores, like cleaning, doing dishes etc so I wouldn't have to do it myself. But most importantly; it would wear costumes.

Don't worry,
I don't want a baby. I can always get a dog and dress it up in weird costumes. But if I did want a baby, it would have been a great - and fashionable - baby!

gothic fairytale photography by Viona-Art

.

This is the singer in Aural Vampire:
I started listening to Aural Vampire after seeing this picture! I love discovering new fun music, I might have to start posting music I like in this blog. I've got a weird taste in music sometimes, so I've been thinking that there's no point in sharing my musical obsessions.. but then this blog attracts weird people so maybe I've got the right audience ;)

My favourite :

How pretty is this outfit?? It's heaven in a bit of clothing.

Ps. Ida and Truls; all these pretty pictures of fashionable people made me think of the two of you;)

A Visual Guide to Alien Beings

I know I'm not supposed to judge a book by it's cover, but if this particular book is anything near as good as it's cover then it must be really, really good. I want it.
The book is based on interviews of abductees who has explained what the aliens where like and looked like and such. It's fun to see that lizard people/reptilians has been included as my boyfriend has been telling me about this particular alien specie for a while. Also, mr. Chace claims he has been lucky enough to meet a reptilian alien lady, so he must know what he's talking about ;)

The cover reminds me a little of Päivi Laakso's elf paintings (blogged here).

I've read reviews of the book where people has said that they used to be sceptical about aliens but now they believe it all. Oh wow, I also want to believe in lizard people! Someone please buy me this book!

cat etchings by Ola Steen

I've been covering my drawings with blobs and spots lately, just like Ola Steen has done in these etchings. Tons of spots can transform a normal looking drawing into a mad psychedelic confusing thing(and that is obviously something we want, isn't it!?). Ola Steen works with old fashioned methods to make prints (etching) and takes care in selecting the paper and I think it gives his work an extra depth. Not that I don't love Photoshop or wish that I lived in the past, - and hey, I love polished, glossy computer-made art.. But I love art with a bit of grittiness to it even more.

This kitty is feeling especially sneaky and clever about something:

Awww drowsy-puss has melancholy in it's eyes:

I need more cats in my life.

the prettiest usb lead in the universe

I'm proud to be the owner of the prettiest usb lead in the universe, and I've decorated it aaaall by myself. I used lots of funky novelty yarn and wool and some acrylic paint for the computery parts that I couldn't cover with yarn.

The picture quality is rubbish as my camera is broken, so I had to use my camera phone.

My 10 year old laptop has been born again as a new shiny purple thing! I used normal acrylic paint and water based glossy varnish. Probably not the thing for a brand new expensive computer, but mine was old and worn out and f***** ugly so *anything* I could have done to it would have been an improvement. And so far the paint job looks fine:

I want to decorate the top of it more, but I still haven't worked out what I want on it. In a perfect world where computers didn't switch off from overheating, I would have covered the lid with some matching purple long haired faux fur.

I had to have a go at decorating the usb for my mouse too..

The leads reminds me of of hand spun art yarn. I've seen people making diy drop spindles on the internet to spin yarn, and I'm thinking of trying it out.

tentacle engravings by Dan Hillier

Phillipa Fioretti (her blog / Twitter ) sendt me a message on Twitter a while ago saying she had a look at the pictures on my site and thought I might like the altered engravings of Dan Hillier. I'm very pleased when people show me amazing things they think I'll like- and especially through Twitter, because it sort of justifies the fact that I have a Twitter account.

I'm also pleased when the things I'm shown has tentacles and look like Victorian monsters.

www.danhillier.com = Dan Hillier's art, info on how to buy- and even some pages from his sketchbook.

I've had more ace things recommended by my readers lately(and not so lately.. the type of lately that was a while ago), but have been too lazy busy to post it for everyone's enjoyment. I'll get to it sooner or later.

Joseph's moleskin art

It's so much fun to follow the process of Joseph's many art journal moleskins in his blog, as he draws something amazing nearly every single day. And he doesn't do jotted down sketches that never gets finished like I do in my sketchbook - but finished, elaborate drawings.

I have a thing for blobs, like the black blobs around this car.. I keep adding blobs and spots in my own drawings too:

Real Men Knit

Unconfined Mind has released a documentary called Real Men Knit.
I've only seen the trailer so far, but I like the trailer and the concept. I like that they are all just regular guys, and I hope a lot of men who see this documentary will realise that knitting is something they can try out without feeling that it threatens their masculinity.
Because knitting is not only addictive(trust me, it is..), it's also therapeutic and sort of like meditating, and it's nice to fiddle with something while watching tv/films or on the bus or whenever you have to sit still for a while but have too much energy to do so.

Even though I think it's all very great, I get a little annoyed when they say that knitting was invented by men, so in that way, it's ok for men to knit because they need to reclaim a tradition that originally belonged to them.. - who cares who started it? I see that it's a valid argument, but it's not a necessary one. It would have been ok no matter what. Cool men knit ;)

nurse Johanna Gullin

I love this photo I snapped of my friend Johanna after I helped painting her all white before a video performance of hers some years ago. I like that even her mug and her cigarette is white. She was looking funky.

Johanna

Check out my blog post about a leaf dress performance Johanna did if you want to see some of her art.
